A: Potomac Heartwood is a family-oriented organization focused on woodworking education and community building. They specialize in empowering people through woodcraft and natural science education

Q: Where is Potomac Heartwood located?
A: Potomac Heartwood is based out of Baltimore County, MD. However, we do not have a physical space. All classes are held in the natural areas, like parks, to incorporate education about trees and the natural environment. We will travel to you!

Q: What types of programs do you offer?
A: Potomac Heartwood offers various workshops and programs for different age groups:

  • Workshops for Little Ones
  • Workshops for Beginners
  • Workshops for Teens & Adults
  • Sloyd programs

Q: When are your classes held?
A: Classes are scheduled on demand. Since classes are outside they are weather dependent. Classes may be rescheduled for severe weather, extreme heat, extreme cold, or poor air quality.

Q: Are your programs suitable for complete beginners?
A: Yes, they offer specific workshops designed for beginners, making woodworking accessible to those with no prior experience.

Q: Do I need to bring my own tools?
A: No, Potomac Heartwood will provide class participants with the tools and materials needed for the project. This includes safety equipment. Participants may elect to bring their own tools but it is not required.
